Module 1
Starting the PuP Journey
The first module of the PuP program is a conversation that allows for reflection and discussion on the challenges and strengths that have led to the current situation.

Module 2
Planning My PuP Journey
Module 2 provides an opportunity to reflect on the information shared during the PuP journey conversation. It allows the practitioner and parent or carer to identify shared goals to work towards, and develops a way of monitoring progress towards goals.

Module 3
View of Self as a Parent
Module 3 aims to help parents reflect on their view of themselves as parents, increasing parental competence and self belief.

Module 4
Connecting With Your Child to Help Them Feel Loved and Safe
Module 4 is aimed at supporting the development of a nurturing and responsive parent-child relationship. Parents and carers are given opportunities to view their own parenting responses and those of their child to help develop a meaningful and loving connection.

Module 5
Understanding What May Happen When Children Are Exposed To Trauma Or Loss
Module 5 addresses the impact of trauma and loss on children. Children who have had different caregivers in their life or who have witnessed violence or loss need special support. This module draws from our knowledge of working with trauma and loss to provide carers with strategies to understand complex behaviours.

Module 6
Health Check Your Child
Module 6 is designed to open up a discussion on health, hygiene and nutrition. These are often difficult topics to raise with parents but all are really important to the well being of children.

Module 7
How To Manage Emotions When Under Pressure: Increasing Mindful Awareness
Module 7 aims to support parents to develop or enhance their emotional regulation skills, both in the context of parenting and in other areas of life.

Module 8
Supporting Your Child To Develop Self Regulation
Module 8 is aimed at providing parents withe strategies they can use to improve their child's self-regulation. The focus is less on management of behaviour and more on supporting the development of emotion regulation including increasing attentional control and understanding and adapting behaviour appropriate to the situation.

Module 9
Managing Substance Use Problems
Module 9 aims to help parents and carers to monitor and manage their substance use. The module provides opportunities to reflect on substance use and ensure that use does not escalate when under pressure.

Module 10
Connecting With Family, Community And Culture
Module 10 is about connecting with family, community and culture.

Module 11
Life Skills
Module 11 aims to teach parents practical life skills where these do not exist. Life skills include budgeting, nutrition, health care, obtaining housing etc.

Relationships
Module 12 addresses issues around communication skills and other problems in adult intimate relationships.

Closure
Closure
The closure session presents an opportunity for both parent and therapist to reflect on the positive changes that have occurred over the duration of the PuP program.
